Welcome to our latest project - a transformation that takes golfing at home to a new level. Our client approached us with a unique request: convert one of the bays in his work garage into a state-of-the-art golf studio. The goal was to create a semi-permanent setup that wouldn't damage the epoxy flooring, cater to both left and right-handed golfers, and maintain a professional look in line with the rest of the garage.
The Vision
The client had specific requirements for the golf studio:
- Semi-Permanent: The solution needed to be semi-permanent to protect the garage’s epoxy flooring. We designed the setup with this in mind, ensuring no permanent fixtures would cause damage so the client choose to relocate the space at a future date. This also involved removing the garage tracks to maximize the height of the enclosure.
- Ambidextrous Support: To accommodate both left and right-handed golfers, we opted for the new Foresight Falcon, renowned for its versatility and advanced features.
- Custom Turf: To match the sleek, professional aesthetic of the garage, we installed custom black turf with a 3/4" underpad, giving the studio a unique and stylish look. The hitting and stance mat was also premium grade quality and cut on premise to fit the space.
- Convenience: We integrated a system that allows for a one-click easy start, making the setup quick and user-friendly.
- Professional Enclosure: The custom enclosure from Carl's Place measures 14 feet wide by 9.5 feet high, providing ample space for practice. The enclosure included 2" steel piping which we lightly secured to the back wall to maximize sturdiness and remove potential vibrations. We included retractable curtains to prevent stray balls from bouncing around, enhancing safety and focus.
- Professional Aesthetics: The studio was designed to seamlessly blend with the rest of the garage, ensuring a cohesive and professional appearance.
The Transformation
The result is a golf studio that perfectly fits within the garage bay, offering a high-quality, professional-grade experience without compromising the integrity of the space. The custom black turf and retractable curtains not only serve functional purposes but also contribute to the sleek, modern look of the studio. This setup is ideal for serious practice while maintaining the flexibility needed in a multipurpose garage environment.
